Soka was an Akita that I rescued when he was a year old. He had lived on the end of a chain knowing only his name when the people that owned him finally decided this was not fair to him. They called me to evaluate him — one look was all it took — he came home with me. His intelligence astounded me — by the time he was two he had his CD and was the number six Akita in the country in obedience. He finished in the ribbons every time — with most of the points deducted due to his handler(me). He lived to the age of 13 enriching our lives everyday.
